Where we say no
The list that keeps your import out of trouble.
Most buyers who lose a container did not lose it over price. They lost it over what was in it. We screen the product before quoting a project, and we would rather turn down the work than walk a client into a seizure.
If a product sits in a grey area, we tell you exactly why and what would have to change for it to be importable.
Counterfeits and replicas
Branded logos, lookalikes, "inspired by" designs and unlicensed characters. Customs seizes them and the importer of record answers for it.
Regulated and licensed goods
Prescription items, supplements making health claims, vapes and nicotine, weapons and their parts, and anything needing a license the buyer does not hold.
Products we cannot verify
Suppliers who refuse a factory visit, will not show a business license, or cannot produce test reports for a regulated product.
Goods with forced-labor exposure
Inputs traceable to Xinjiang under the UFLPA presumption, or suppliers who will not answer questions about their supply chain.
Before you place the order
Every sector has a rule that bites.
What we check at origin so the goods are legal to land and legal to sell.
Country of origin marking
U.S. law requires imported goods to be marked with their country of origin, on the product and often on the retail packaging. We confirm it before production closes.
FCC for electronics
Anything that transmits or emits radio frequency needs FCC marking and a supplier declaration of conformity. We collect it as part of the file.
CPSIA for children
Children's products need third-party testing, a Children's Product Certificate and permanent tracking labels. No certificate, no shipment.
FDA for cosmetics and food-contact
Ingredient labeling in English, facility registration under MoCRA where it applies, and food-contact materials documented by the factory.
Textile and care labels
Fiber content, care instructions and RN or business name on a permanent label, sewn in at origin. Fixing this in the U.S. costs more than the garment.
Duties and classification
We estimate the HTS classification and duty rate before you commit, and recommend a binding ruling where the classification is genuinely uncertain.
We check and document these at origin and advise you on them, but the importer of record remains responsible for compliance in the United States. See our Trade Compliance Policy.
